The Process

I think by sketching and produce lots of sketches and concepts to flesh out an idea. There will be multiple elements to satisfy along the way. The initial sketches are floor layouts, organising circulation and spaces, followed by sections to establish heights and finally elevations. The design will evolve from the inside out.

Legal Matters

The practice of designing and of building has become highly regulated with an array of legislation to control the entire process before the start to after the finish. As a client or building owner, you will be faced with legal duties to appoint persons to act on your behalf such as assigned certifier, project supervisors for design and construction stages. DCA has statutory recognition to act on your behalf. Your project may require statutory approvals such as planning permission, fire safety certificate, disabled access certificate and building regulations compliance.
